A box is drawn in pedestrian spaces with the title “Gender Free Zone” and “Free Entry”. Why do we continue to need to tick a box declaring ‘male’ or ‘female’ for arbitrary purchases and forms?
This box proposes a zone free from these categories that can be entered or passed through freely and fluidly. It is ironic in its proposal. This rupture is easily constructed, a nod at the daily construction of gender and establishes a zone, an alternative and if this is the ‘gender free zone’ the rest of the world is pervasively gendered.
